To minimize shaking and the blurring of images, it is
important to have a large sized, sturdy tripod when photographing at large focal
lengths.
Carbon fiber tripods are a little on the expensive side but are a good
choice for digiscoping as they are lightweight and strong. |

The use of a fluid video pan head is recommended for
digiscoping because of their smooth movement and ease of handling. It is
also recommended to have a video head with a quick release mount.

The use of a remote control or shutter release is an added
bonus when digiscoping. These items help to reduce blurring of images. |

Many LCD monitors are difficult to view outdoors and an LCD
hood will solve this problem. |

Useful in helping to find the subject for photography.
A simple tube can be used as well. |

When a camera is placed on the end of a spotting scope the
balance is often thrown off.
The use of a balance plate restores the balance of the system and restores the
smooth movement of the tripod head. |
